Library, see, think and wonder

Today I am going to share my see, think wonder thoughts on this picture

SEE:

What I see in this picture is there are  two aboriginal men, and two emus, one of the men is also holding a spear. There and some really well drawn pictures of trees and bushes. The aboriginal men are some thought of animal clothing.

THINK:

I think the men are trying to kill the emus because one one man has two emus quite close to it, and is also holding a spear. Another reason is because it looks like the man is creeping up behind the emus.

WONDER:

I am wondering why they need the emus. It might be because they want to eat emus but I don’t think emu is edible. I am also wondering why there is another person in the background, I am wondering what he is doing

Library Reflection

1. What genre of books do you enjoy reading the most?

I enjoy reading fantasy, it is my favourite genre of all time. I enjoy reading fantasy because it is fiction and I love fiction but I am not a fan of non-fiction.

2. Provide a suggested book within the genre

I recommend Ice Wolfs/Scorch Dragons because it is action packed, interesting and has a lot of great words to describe characters.
3. Which book chat are you reading now?

I am reading Finding Serendipity by Angelia Banks, it is about a girl trying to find her mum (which is the most famous writer in the world).

4. Include a image of one of the books you mention in your post

Hi readers

Here are instructions to play wars

What you will need:

1. A deck of cards

2. A opponent

Aim:

To get the answer correct before the other person

What to do:

  1. You choose weather you want to do addition, subtraction, division or multiplication
  2. You get a deck of cards
  3. Split the deck in half
  4. Give one half to your opponent
  5. You both grab a card and put it down on the floor, face up
  6. And who ever gets the answer correct the quickest is the winner and gets to keep the cards. And the overall winner is the person with the most cards

CBCA Shortlist

This term in library we have been looking at the CBCA shortlist and been putting our judging hats on to decide and guess the WINNER…We had to learn what a good information book is so that we can judge.

A good information book  is a book that includes detailed illustrations that are also clear and are also attractive. I think ‘Make Believe’ is a fabulous book which shows you how to draw  illusions.

A good information book also has to include a good layout which  is clear and easy to read in the right order.

The information in the book is the most important part. It has to be interesting and has facts that most people don’t know.

I chose this book because it was really cool with all the illusions. It taught me facts I didn’t know and had a clear and clean layout.

I hope you chose this book, did you?

Science lab

Science lab

Today we had a incursion, we went to the senior school to the science lab and did a experiment the experiment was…see if different materials were metal or not. We had a little kit were we clipped the materials and see if the little light bulb would light up, if it did this is called conducting electricity. On the paper we had to write the results there were questions and here were a few.  Can you polish it, is it magnetic, does it conduct electricity, is it heavy for its size, does the material make a rings sound when you hit it with a hard object, does the material conduct heat and is the material strong. There were also different materials wood, plastic, tin, aluminium, nickel,  rubber, copper, and cardboard.

Here are the results.

Book Week

If you are wondering who I am (in the photo),you have got to guess who I am look at my details, can you guess? You have got 5 seconds 5…4…3…2…1…I AM ADA (from the book THE WAR THAT SAVED MY LIFE or THE WAR I FINALLY WON).

I chose this character because it is a really good book of history (it is fictional). I can relate to Ada because I read the book, I don’t have any other connection.
My character has the super power of courage/bravery.
I wonder who you were?

Experiment Experience

                                         Experiment Experience

Hi everyone

This term in science we have been making our own experiment. I was in a group with Henry and Jack, our aim was to find the breaking point of a rubber band. We had to use collaboration to discuss how we would do this experiment, in the end we decided to put weights on elastic bands to see the breaking point of them. Henry used a lot of resilience when he was weaving the rubber bands through the weights. We went up by 100 grams until we got up to 1kg, then we went up by 200g. We had to use a lot of courage because the thin rubber band stretched so much we thought it would snap. We used different thicknesses of the rubber bands. So far the little rubber band snapped.

I wonder what you did for an experiment?
